OAKMONT, Pa. — The American Golf Association is maintaining a $21.5 million wallet for the 2025 US Open as it is hosted by the Oakmont Country Club for its record 10th performance of the national championship. A year ago, Bryson Deccanbeau was awarded the $4.3 million grand prize at Pinehurst No. 2.

“Our wallet is $21.5 million. The winner’s check is $4.3 million. We didn’t raise our wallet this year,” said USGA CEO Mike Wang. “When we first started at USGA just four years ago, our wallets were $12.5 million, so we feel comfortable being a leader in fast and moving big. We’re not really fans of small things, but we get a little bigger.

“We understand a competitive set. We know that this is probably not money for the people who put it there, but at the same time we want the money to be worth the results. So, yeah, we feel comfortable (I really don’t know the other four majors. Games.”

Oakmont has already shown his teeth this week, with only four players entering Sunday’s final round. Sam Burns is on top of a pack with one-shot leads from Adam Scott and JJ Spawn, while Victor Hofland is three strokes behind Barns, one under for the tournament. Will Burns maintain his 36-hole and 54-hole lead, or will one of the other candidates replace him on the leaderboard? CBS Sports is Collapsing Scott’s possibility, or perhaps someone else will catch the burn Under the stretch.
