Red Bull’s Question “What Are You Leaving Behind?” Unveils Major Flaws as Max Verstappen Faces DNF

Sky Sports F1 presenter Ted Kravitz issued a stern warning to Red Bull after Max Verstappen’s early retirement from the Austrian Grand Prix. Verstappen’s race at the Red Bull Ring ended on the first lap following a crash caused by Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli. Antonelli misjudged his braking, which resulted in both drivers being forced out of the race on lap 3.

Red Bull left their home Grand Prix without scoring points as Yuki Tsunoda also struggled. Tsunoda was involved in collisions twice and received a 10-second penalty for hitting Franco Coppola. After the race, Kravitz commented that without Verstappen, Red Bull seemed to lack any driver capable of handling the difficult car. He has voiced ongoing concerns about the team’s future performance if Verstappen is not behind the wheel.

Kravitz stated, "What happens when Max Verstappen is taken out by Kimi Antonelli at the start? It looks like there’s no one else in the team who can manage the car. It’s not the fault of Yuki Tsunoda, Liam Lawson, Sergio Perez, or Daniel Ricciardo."

The focus on Verstappen’s future has intensified amid rumors of a possible move to Mercedes. George Russell confirmed there are ongoing discussions between Mercedes and Verstappen’s camp. While Verstappen insists he is happy at Red Bull, he reportedly has an exit clause in his contract.

Kravitz emphasized the worry that Austria highlighted—Red Bull’s dependence on Verstappen. "This car seems designed to be driven by one person alone," he said. "That person is Max Verstappen, who is an exceptional talent aiming for four consecutive world championships."

"But if Max Verstappen isn’t driving for the team, then things get complicated. He could either leave or not be part of the team, which raises serious questions about Red Bull’s future."

Fan Take: This news is crucial for racing fans because Verstappen’s dominance has been a defining feature of recent F1 seasons. If he moves or is unavailable, it could dramatically shake up team dynamics and the competitive landscape, making the sport even more unpredictable and exciting.
