With the Open Championships open on July 17, 2017, champion Jordan Spieth will become one of those competing to win the coveted jug of Claret. Spieth, recently he I had to retreat From the Travelers Championship due to injuries, he confirmed that he will play in the final major tournament of the 2025 season.

The three-time 31-year-old major winner said he was in good health, detailing the injuries that led to the first withdrawal of his career on the 297 PGA Tour. Spieth previously said he woke up in the morning with a pain in his neck. He tried to get over the pain, but eventually retreated after hitting a tee shot on the 13th hole.

“It was a strange neck cramp that just showed up, so I couldn’t get through the round,” Spieth said in “Up and Adams.” “It was a strange deal. There’s a good team here that we work with. I knew it would be short-lived.

“I was back to full strength and preparing for next week’s Open Championship. After that, there will be the playoffs. So there are a lot of big events left, but yeah, I have no limits.”

Injuries have been worrisome to former No. 1 golfers in the world for the past few years. At the end of last summer, Spieth had surgery in 2017 to resolve the persistent wrist injury that first began to bother him.

That injury ultimately behind him, Spieth enjoyed a solid season before WD in the traveller. Of the 16 starts this season, he finished seven times in the top 20. He also has two top five finishes, including a fourth-place finish at CJ Cup Byron Nelson.

Spieth, who has been pursuing his first major since winning the Open eight years ago, finished a T14 at the Masters and missed a cut at the PGA Championship and a T23 at the US Open.

Arrival at Spieth’s opening may be delayed as he and his wife Annie are always looking for a child.

“I’ll arrive a little late, but I’ll be there,” Spieth said. “Fortunately, I played an open on this course in Northern Ireland six years ago, so I don’t think I need to learn a new place. Yes, I’m just trying to do all the work before the baby comes, and I’ll make sure everyone is good before heading out abroad.”

Spieth hinted that this will be his second time playing the Open at Royal Potrush. When the Open was last played here (2019), Spieth finished the T20 behind champion Shane Laurie.
