Yamaha and Jack Miller: Unraveling the Paddock Ripple Effect

Jack Miller’s potential move to the factory Yamaha team for the 2026 MotoGP season is gaining traction following the signing of Toplac Razgatriogul by Pramac Yamaha. Miller, an Australian rider who joined Pramac from KTM with a one-year contract, seemed poised to continue alongside teammate Miguel Oliveira in 2026. While Oliveira has a two-year contract through 2025 and 2026, Yamaha’s managing director Paolo Pavesio hinted at flexible options within the team.

An intriguing development involves Diogo Moreira, currently in the running for a Pramac seat. Moreira impressed after his Moto2 win in the Netherlands and has drawn significant attention from MotoGP factories due to his standout talent, despite some race incidents involving other riders. With the championship promoter keen to feature Brazilian riders in the premier class, Pramac could become Moreira’s new home.

Motogp.com reporter Jack Appleyard revealed rumors that Pramac might field two rookies next season, with Moreira’s arrival potentially triggering Miller’s move to the factory Yamaha team, replacing the struggling Alex Rins. Rins’ poor performance, notably being 40 seconds behind Marc Marquez in the German Grand Prix, opens the door for Miller’s promotion.

MotoGP commentator Louis Suddaby confirmed that Miller aims to remain in MotoGP despite speculation. If Pramac reshuffles don’t happen, Moreira might join LCR Honda, who are looking to Brazilian talent after missing out on Jorge Martin. Appleyard also mentioned that Moreira’s connection to Ducati and KTM could play out in 2027.

Fan Take: This shake-up could significantly impact MotoGP’s competitive landscape, injecting fresh talent into key teams while offering experienced riders like Miller new opportunities to shine. For racing fans, these moves promise exciting battles and dynamic shifts on the grid in the coming seasons.
