  • Neville was impressed after Arsenal Slash Nottingham Forest
  • Maduke deserves praise after a great performance

Gary Neville says that one of Arsenal’s summer signatures is “much better” than you could imagine after an impressive start to the Premier League season.

Neville was impressed after Arsenal Slash Nottingham Forest

The Gunners sent a message on Saturday with a 3-0 victory over Nottingham Forest. Martins Vimendi and Victor Gyorker rode the scoresheet to grab his first assist since the summer signature arrived at Ebe Kieze from Crystal Palace.

Speaking after the game, Mikel Arteta praised the impact his summer signature had on tricky trees, saying: “The new things that started today are five for them today and I was really impressed with them. I think we can feel and feel that a new relationship that is trying to give us something different is thriving there.”

Zubimendi stole the headline after finding the back of the net twice on both sides of the third goal of the Viktor Gyokeres season.

But goals and assists aren’t the only metrics Neville should take the time to praise Noni Madueke, who hasn’t yet won the mark in Arsenal shirts, and it’s not just goals and assists to judge players.

The Sky Sports critic said: “Madueke was far better than I had imagined, and Arsenal fans are far better than he thought.

“The few runs he made for England on Tuesday night were on another level. They were running that they thought ‘Yes’. They’re running.

“What he does and what he does is very, very good, and I’m talking from a fullback perspective that counters it.”

Maduke deserves praise after a great performance

Although Winger was unable to open an account, he undoubtedly performed well against Forest, gaining more duels than any other player on the pitch and making many important offensive contributions.

Neville is not the only person who was very impressed with the £52 million signature display in the summer. “Noni – I thought he was exceptional. We played Front 3, which we’ve never played before (together). Overall I’m very happy.”

Last season, Arteta sometimes left his attacking area options very short. Gabriel Jesus, Kaihabaats and Bukayosaka all made no doubt a big difference in the Premier League title race.

However, given Saka is expected to return later this month, the issues this season are even better as Arteta may find it difficult to get all his fronts to the side.
