AC Milan have reportedly cut their price tag for Rafael Leao, with Arsenal set to ramp up their interest in signing the impressive Portuguese winger.

The Gunners could not have asked for a better start to the Premier League season, but their recent clean sheet streak finally came to an end against Sunderland.

More than 13 hours later, David Raya finally picked up the ball from the back of his own net, courtesy of Sunderland’s Daniel Ballard. And, like the London buses, as soon as one arrived, another followed, and the Black Cats scored the last equalizing goal by Brian Brobbey.

Despite failing for the first time since drawing with Manchester City at the end of September, Arsenal’s recent form has been nothing short of impressive.

Speaking about the draw at full-time, Mikel Arteta told reporters: “The feeling at the end is disappointment and frustration because we wanted the three points. We had to get through a really tough game and we knew that. It was very chaotic. We have to deal with a situation that is difficult to deal with.”

“They did a really good job and although we conceded a goal that wasn’t up to our standards, I think the team reacted really well after that and showed character and courage.

“They scored the first goal, they scored the second goal and we were completely dominating the game. And when they start putting six or seven players in the box, you have to rely on defending the box.”

Arsenal then have a small problem with the North London derby, which is a great opportunity to get back to winning ways. It also marks the start of a very important week, with Chelsea facing Bayern Munich following a seven-day match against Tottenham Hotspur after the international break.

Arsenal’s stars are made for times like these and it’s one that Leo could soon get the chance to enjoy following the latest transfer reports.

Arsenal accelerate Leo transfer following latest discount information

According to Caught Offside, Arsenal are set to accelerate their move to sign Leo after AC Milan cut his price from the winger’s €150m release clause to around €85m (approximately £75m).

AC Milan’s leaders are reportedly preparing for the possibility that negotiations between Leo and himself over a new contract stall, resulting in a price adjustment. Currently, the Portugal international’s current contract expires in 2028, but Milan’s latest stance suggests that they may not be able to see through the remaining three years of his contract.

When you compare him to Bukayo Saka, you start to see Arsenal’s interest in Leo. Opposite the England international, the Milan star has already contributed five goals in the league this season in just 453 minutes, which is the equivalent of around five games.

Described as “crazy” by Arsenal legend Thierry Henry, Leo is the star set to take the Premier League and the Emirates by storm in 2023.
