Bayern Munich Aims to Retain Leon Goretzka’s Talents

Bayern Munich is not keen on parting ways with Leon Goretzka during the current season, and it seems that Goretzka himself would prefer to stay at the Allianz Arena, according to reporter Christian Falk.

Falk stated in CFB Bayern Insider: “It’s incorrect to say that Bayern intends to let Leon Goretzka go in January.”

“However, the German international genuinely wants to remain at Bayern. He believes he has a future at the club.”

“It’s widely known that he is among the club’s highest earners, with an annual salary of approximately €17-18 million (around £14.9-15.8 million).”

“Bayern plans to hold discussions with Goretzka and his agent about a new contract next year, assessing if he would be open to a pay cut. If he agrees, there’s a chance he could continue with the team.”

“Otherwise, many clubs are reportedly interested in signing him. For instance, Juventus is rumored to be eyeing him for the winter transfer window. Additionally, Fenerbahçe could be looking to acquire Goretzka in January.”

“There are also whispers of Galatasaray having a slight interest, but it’s unlikely to materialize. Goretzka’s preference is to remain, and we’ll see what Bayern offers at the start of 2026, and whether they can come to an agreement. If not, several clubs will be eager to secure his signature.”

“Bayern Munich is currently exploring the market for younger, cost-effective players, but first, they are prioritizing negotiations with Goretzka. While a summer exit is possible, a winter transfer seems unlikely.”

Fan Take: This news is significant for soccer enthusiasts, as it highlights Bayern’s strategic decisions regarding their squad and finances. Goretzka’s potential departure could shift the balance of power in European football, attracting attention from other top clubs and altering player dynamics within the league.
