Lionel Racing revealed the top 10 best-selling diecast models from the 2025 NASCAR season, unveiling the list throughout Wednesday. In 2024, Dale Earnhardt Jr. demonstrated his lasting popularity as his Budweiser-sponsored late model car topped sales. Meanwhile, Kevin Harvick, in 2023, recreated his 2001 Busch Lite Ford Mustang scheme, returning to the No. 29 All-Star race and securing strong diecast sales. Nostalgia influenced the previous two years, but in 2022, Ross Chastain’s Martinsville “Hail Melon” wallride car, notably damaged on the right side, led sales. In 2021, Kevin Harvick’s No. 4 Grave Digger paint scheme was the top seller.

Looking back further, Chase Elliott’s championship-winning No. 9 NAPA Chevrolet was the best-seller in 2020, a trend repeated in 2019, 2018, and 2016. Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s throwback paint scheme from his final Cup start led in 2017, and various Earnhardt cars were favorites from 2012 to 2015.

The 2025 list kicks off with Shane Van Gisbergen’s #88 Trackhouse/Red Bull Chevrolet at number 10. Red Bull re-entered NASCAR sponsorship in 2025, with Van Gisbergen earning a notable Sonoma Raceway win and his first Cup top-10 at Kansas Speedway under the Red Bull banner.

At 9th is Josh Berry’s #21 Wood Brothers/Motorcraft Chevrolet from the Las Vegas race, marking Berry’s first career win and the Wood Brothers’ 101st Cup victory, highlighted by a confetti-filled Victory Lane diecast.

In 8th place is Connor Girish’s #87 Trackhouse/Red Bull Chevrolet. The young driver made his Cup debut sporting this paint scheme but had a rough start with a 37th place finish. He later improved, finishing as high as 11th at Atlanta.

Kyle Larson holds both 7th and 6th spots: his #5 Hendrick/Hendrickcars.com Chevrolet from the Phoenix race, where he secured the 2025 Cup Series title with a third-place finish, and a special championship edition of the same car featuring a yellow windshield banner and rear spoiler, highlighting his champion status.

William Byron’s #24 Hendrick/Axalta Chevrolet triumphs at 5th with his back-to-back Daytona 500 win in 2025. His victory was unexpected, benefitting from a late collision among leaders, and the diecast includes unique event markings and Victory Lane confetti.

In 4th is Chase Elliott’s #9 Hendrick/NAPA Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Chevrolet race version. Elliott won at his home track after a major crash removed much of the competition, with the special paint scheme designed by an 11-year-old fan.

JR Motorsports made its Cup debut this year, represented by Justin Allgaier’s #40 JR Motorsports/Traveler Whiskey Chevrolet race version, notable for showing the battle scars and tape from the race, commemorating the team’s emotional entry into the Cup Series.

Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s enduring appeal is shown by his #3 Budweiser Speedway Classic Chevrolet Late Model, which revisited a nostalgic 2001 MLB All-Star Game paint scheme and performed well in a late model race.

Topping the list at number 1 is Justin Allgaier’s JR Motorsports #40 Chevrolet, marking the team’s impressive Daytona 500 debut. Earnhardt Jr.’s involvement is significant, as his cars occupy three of the top spots on this year’s best-selling list.

Fan Take: This ranking shows the strong connection between NASCAR fans and both current stars and legendary figures like Dale Earnhardt Jr., highlighting the sport’s rich history and evolving future. The sales success of these diecasts reflects fans’ passion and can drive more engagement and excitement around NASCAR’s dynamic 2025 season.
