Regardless of the result of his bout against Anthony Joshua, Jake Paul has undeniably gained the admiration of much of the martial arts community.

On Friday night at the Kaseya Center in Miami, the highly anticipated heavyweight clash between Jake Paul and Anthony Joshua finally happened. Prior to the fight, numerous current and former professional fighters expressed concerns about Paul’s safety due to the significant size and experience gap. However, the 28-year-old demonstrated remarkable resilience and earned respect from many in the martial arts world, despite the match concluding in six rounds.

Jake Paul managed to get himself to the hospital after suffering a serious jaw injury during the fight. Knocked down multiple times, he survived the final knockout punch but with a broken jaw. Immediately after the event, Paul, in surprisingly good spirits, admitted to Ariel Helwani that he suspected his jaw was broken from absorbing the heavy right hand that ended the fight. He acknowledged that it would take a significant period to recover and return to his natural cruiserweight form. Nakisa Bidalian, co-founder of Most Valuable Promotions, later confirmed that Paul had indeed fractured his jaw but remained stable, noting that jaw fractures are common in combat sports with an expected recovery time of four to six weeks.

In typical Jake Paul fashion, he took to social media shortly after the fight, posting a video showing the moment AJ broke his jaw and captioning it with, “Cheating?” There were pre-fight rumors alleging the fight was fixed, and Paul even threatened to sue former champion Deontay Wilder, who claimed the event was “scripted.”
