  • Sean Dyche gives latest update on Forest’s transfer plans
  • Impressive ‘incredible’ Tavernier in Bournemouth
        • Nottingham Forest determined to sign ‘huge’ star in January and they won’t give up

Nottingham Forest are keen to sign the “incredible” Premier League attacker this month given his impressive form this season.

Sean Dyche gives latest update on Forest’s transfer plans

Manager Sean Dyche has confirmed that Forest are planning new additions to their squad this month, but the need to bring in a new forward is even greater after Arnaud Karimendo’s loan move to Eintracht Frankfurt.

The manager said: “They’ve been very open about the scouting side of things. We’ve been meeting with the scouting department and the analytics department to talk about players and that’s been going on for the last few months.”

“We can be as optimistic as we want, but until we put pen to paper and it’s done, we’ll never know. But there are certainly conversations going on about the situation.”

Following Karimend’s departure, Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Jorgen Strand Larsen and Fenerbahce’s Youssef En-Nesyri have been mentioned as potential centre-forward targets, with Tricky Trees also looking to strengthen his attacking midfield options.

This comes as The Athletic report that Nottingham Forest are keen to sign AFC Bournemouth’s Marcus Tavernier this month, with the 26-year-old having been on their shortlist for some time.

However, it may be difficult to get a deal over the line given Bournemouth’s unwillingness to allow another attacker to leave this month after selling Antoine Semenyo to Premier League rivals Manchester City in a £62.5m deal.

The Cherries are also in a good negotiating position, with the Englishman putting pen to paper for a new long-term deal earlier this season.

Impressive ‘incredible’ Tavernier in Bournemouth

Former Bournemouth manager Gary O’Neill has praised the attacking midfielder as “incredible” in the past, and he has continued to impress with his performances for the Cherries this season.

In fact, the 26-year-old has demonstrated his attacking power with five goals and three assists in 22 games in all competitions, while also showing his versatility by playing in a variety of positions.

Tricky Trees hopes to close the deal as soon as possible.

The Leeds-born ace has played in defensive midfield, attacking midfield and on both flanks, and his ability to play in a variety of positions would make him a useful option for Dyche.

Tavernier could be an exciting addition for Forest this month, but a deal doesn’t seem particularly likely and bringing in a new striker should be a higher priority given Karim Endo’s recent departure.
