  • Frank is under pressure due to poor grades.
        • Tottenham sign £61m goalkeeper as Vicario keen to leave
  • Glassner could be an “incredible” replacement for Frank.

The “incredible” manager has emerged as a candidate for Tottenham Hotspur in a new update on Thomas Frank’s future at N17.

Frank is under pressure due to poor grades.

Tottenham suffered another setback at the weekend, losing to Aston Villa in the third round of the FA Cup, and Frank, who has struggled in the Premier League, is now under huge pressure.

Former scout Mick Brown suggested the Dane might not last very long, saying: “I feel like there’s a bit of a toxic atmosphere at Tottenham at the moment so I think at some stage something has to give and that’s not what anyone wants.

“Unfortunately for them, I understand why they did it, but I think they made the wrong decision and may have to reverse it going forward.”

With Frank having scored just 27 points in 21 Premier League games, the Lilywhites have begun considering potential replacements, with it recently revealed that positive talks are underway with recently sacked Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso.

However, Football Insider reports that the Spaniard is not the only player on the shortlist, with Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner reportedly being floated as a possible replacement if Tottenham manager loses his job in the coming weeks.

However, with Glasner’s contract not due to expire until the summer, Palace are unlikely to be ready to part ways with the Austrian by then, and Spurs may need to appoint an interim manager for the remainder of the season.

The report also released another update on Frank’s future, revealing that the 52-year-old is currently on very thin ice and could lose his job if the team loses at home to West Ham United at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this weekend.

Tottenham sign £61m goalkeeper as Vicario keen to leave

Spurs are considering signing a new goalkeeper.

Glassner could be an “incredible” replacement for Frank.

Speaking earlier this season, former Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Gary O’Neill, who recently joined Strasbourg, lavished praise on the Palace manager, describing his work at Selhurst Park as “incredible”.

Of course, the Salzburg-born tactician led the Eagles to FA Cup glory last season, as well as winning the Community Shield with Eintracht Frankfurt, the Austrian Second Division with LASK and the Europa League.

With four trophies under his belt, Glasner clearly knows what it takes to win, but the first half of the season has been tough for Frank.

So while it’s a shame Tottenham have to wait until the season, Glasner has proven he can be a great replacement for Frank.
