Thomas Frank’s position as Tottenham’s head coach is in jeopardy after Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at West Ham, a result that has increased pressure within the club and sparked fresh debate at board level.

According to Sky Sports, Tottenham bosses met immediately after the defeat and concerns were raised over Frank’s ability to continue in his role amid the uncertain results.

Tottenham board holds crisis talks

A final decision has not yet been made, but reports indicate that all options are currently being considered.

Spurs’ original plan was to support Frank and work on a long-term rebuild, but that strategy is now being seriously reviewed.

Fan anxiety has intensified in recent weeks, with the atmosphere around Tottenham Hotspur Stadium reportedly becoming tense.

In one incident reported by Sky Sports, a supporter confronted Spurs co-owner Vivian Lewis about the club’s dire situation.

Frank is really struggling to make an impact at Tottenham

Frank’s arrival from Brentford in the summer of 2025 was greeted with optimism, but the reality was quite different. This statistic is a grim look at the 52-year-old.

Coach Frank has experienced a surprising decline in performance since taking over. The loss to West Ham was Tottenham’s eighth defeat in 22 Premier League games this season.

Even more worryingly, Frank currently has the lowest home win percentage of any permanent Tottenham manager in the Premier League era, a statistic that only adds to the spotlight on his tenure.

His uninspiring playing style plans, in contrast to his predecessor’s ‘engiball’ attacking philosophy, failed to produce results and the team looked disjointed and lacking confidence.

The pressure is currently at a boiling point as the club has lost both domestic cup matches and is struggling in the league.

Mauricio Pochettino involved in sensational return

As pressure mounts on Frank, speculation has already begun to swirl about his replacement.

Former fan favorite Mauricio Pochettino is set to make a sensational return to the club in the summer, talkSPORT reports.

Pochettino, who is currently the coach of the United States national team, is reportedly on the list as a summer candidate should Spurs decide to part ways with Frank. The Argentine is said to be keen to return after the World Cup.

Pochettino remains hugely popular among Spurs supporters following his last spell, in which he led the club to the Champions League final and established themselves as a consistent top-four contender.

If Frank is sacked, the club are expected to appoint an interim manager, similar to Man United’s appointment of Michael Carrick, before appointing a permanent manager in the summer.
