  • Brandt’s situation at Borussia Dortmund
  • Interest from Arsenal and Barcelona is growing

Borussia Dortmund midfielder Julian Brandt could leave this summer, with Arsenal and Barcelona reportedly monitoring his situation.

According to Sky Sports Germany journalist Patrick Berger, both European giants are monitoring the German international as he approaches the final months of his contract with Dortmund.

Brandt has yet to enter formal talks with any club regarding his next move.

However, the 29-year-old is thought to be seriously considering a move overseas as his current contract expires at the end of the season.

Brandt’s situation at Borussia Dortmund

Brandt has been a key player at Borussia Dortmund since joining the club from Bayer Leverkusen in 2019. He is known for his creativity, technical ability and versatility across attacking midfield roles.

Brandt has been a consistent contributor to Dortmund’s attack.

Over the past few seasons, he has often been deployed as a central playmaker, but is equally comfortable playing on the wing or in more creative positions.

His vision, passing range and ability to unravel defenses make him a valuable component of Dortmund’s attacking system.

Despite Blount’s importance to the team, Blount’s contract situation creates uncertainty over his future.

Dortmund face the possibility of losing one of their most experienced players on a free transfer as his current contract expires this summer.

Arsenal and Barcelona are reportedly exploring the possibility of signing Brandt.

Arsenal’s interest appears to be linked to the club’s desire to add an experienced and creative option to their midfield as they continue to compete for major honors under manager Mikel Arteta.

Brandt’s technical qualities could make him a useful addition to Arsenal’s squad, especially as the club balances domestic and European competition.

Meanwhile, Barcelona are actively looking for a creative midfielder who can play between the lines.

Financial constraints often force Catalan clubs to prioritize players available on free transfers, making Brandt an attractive option.
