Archie Gray has been hugely impressive since joining Tottenham Hotspur from Leeds United at the start of the season.

There have already been rumors that he could leave the club in the summer. Liverpool’s name has been mentioned as a possible transfer destination, and it is likely that a large transfer fee will be required to acquire the player.

Manchester United are also interested in Gray.

Archie Gray played for Tottenham

The 20-year-old is an important player for Tottenham and has shown the ability to play multiple roles on the pitch. His versatility makes him a huge asset to any team and it will be interesting to see if Liverpool are prepared to pay big for him in the summer. According to John Wenham, the cost of signing the player is likely to be around £70m.

Wenham said: “Spurs paid £40m for him so he is likely to be the club’s player of the year and Supporters and Players Player of the Year.”

“Spurs should consider building their squad around Archie rather than accepting a sale offer, but I estimate the starting price will be in excess of £70m.”

Can the Spurs protect Gray?

It remains to be seen how the situation will develop. Tottenham are fighting for survival in the Premier League and must stay in the top flight if they want to keep their top players at the club. Making it to the championship could be devastating for them and they could lose multiple players in the summer.

If they manage to survive, it would be reasonable to think they could retain the young midfielder beyond this season. Gray enjoys playing football for the London club and plays an important role within the team. He has no reason to leave them yet. But relegation could change everything.

Liverpool need more quality and depth in the middle of the park and the 20-year-old could be an ideal long-term investment. His ability to play multiple roles would be ideal for the Reds.

Gray is also attracting attention from clubs such as Real Madrid.
