Liverpool are reportedly leading the race to sign Marcos Senesi from Bournemouth at the end of the season.

The 28-year-old Argentine defender will become a free agent in the summer, with clubs including Chelsea and Manchester United among his targets. However, TEAMtalk reports that Liverpool are leading the race to sign him and hope to complete the move in the summer.

The defender played under Arne Slott at Feyenoord and could be keen to reunite. Liverpool need more depth in their defense and Senesi could be a useful addition. He is well established in the Premier League and has shown his quality at the Cherries. He has the quality to play for a bigger club and a move to Liverpool would be ideal at this stage of his career.

Joe Gomez could end up leaving the club in the summer due to lack of playing time, and the 28-year-old could be his replacement.

Ibrahima Konate will also become a free agent in the summer. Liverpool may need to invest in multiple central defenders. It remains to be seen whether they will be able to secure an agreement with the South American defender soon.

Chelsea and Manchester United also need more depth at the back. The Blues will need to add players like Axel Disasi and Benoît Badiashile. Both players have fallen out of favor at Chelsea and are not part of the first team’s plans. Senesi could be an upgrade. He will also add quality and experience to the team.

For Manchester United, he could be the ideal replacement for Harry Maguire in the upcoming season. He has the experience and quality needed to replace England.
