  • Aston Villa plan to take over Muharemovic
        • Aston Villa are favorites to sign next Morgan Rodgers in a £40m deal
  • Muharemovic could join Konsa for £22m

Aston Villa are currently planning to sign Sassuolo defender Tarik Muharemovic ahead of interest from Serie A giants Inter Milan this summer.

Aston Villa plan to take over Muharemovic

Aston Villa have a chance of qualifying for the Champions League for the second time in three seasons and are gradually gaining a place at Europe’s top table.

Although PSR remains an issue, it could be a summer full of reinforcements for Unai Emery. Names like James Trafford and Leo Cienza are already threatening to steal the headlines, and both would be great additions.

Even if that reinforcement doesn’t happen without a major departure, which is likely to involve Morgan Rodgers, there’s a good chance the Villans will remain in the Champions League.

It’s not just on the pitch that they are looking to gain a point over their rivals. Aston Villa are planning a major bid for Muharemovic ahead of Inter Milan and Juventus this summer, according to reports in Italy.

The Midlands club aim to take on their European rivals and could strike a bargain deal worth 25 million euros (about 2.2 billion yen) to sign the Sassuolo star.

If Aston Villa can fend off the interest of Europe’s top clubs, it would certainly be a major statement, perhaps the biggest one in recent years.

As for the player himself, Muharemovic would also be a great addition and an instant upgrade to Victor Lindelof this summer.

Muharemovic could join Konsa for £22m

It has become increasingly clear each week that Ezri Konsa is the sole mainstay at the heart of Aston Villa’s backline. It will provide him with a platform to consolidate his position and rise to the pinnacle of his power.

Emery will need to prioritize finding a long-term partner for the England international this summer, and Muharemovic could come into the picture.

As a duo, Muharemovic and Konsa could be the perfect combination. The former tends to focus its strengths on the uglier side of defense, and has racked up more than twice as many tackles as the latter this season.

Konsa, on the other hand, has the highest pass completion rate in the Premier League and could more than compensate for Muharemovic’s struggles in that department.

No player in the Premier League this season has improved his passing accuracy as much as Aston Villa’s Konsa.

The depth that Konsa, Paul Torres, Lindelof and Muharemovic can provide will be a clear boost for Emery and his team, as the balance of next season’s Champions League will be determined if things go as planned this summer.
