According to Football Insider, Liverpool’s hierarchy are increasingly tempted to accept offers for midfield orchestrator Alexis Mac Allister.

Mac Allister joined the Reds in 2023 and immediately became a key player in the Reds’ midfield. However, the World Cup winner’s form has dipped slightly this season.

He will soon be entering the final two years of his current contract. Usually, this is precisely the moment when a club attempts to secure a valuable asset on new favorable terms.

Instead, Mac Allister himself recently admitted to reporters that there was “no rush” to get to the negotiating table.

Will Alexis Mac Allister leave Liverpool for Real Madrid?

Real Madrid have been closely linked with the Argentine for some time and see him as the perfect creative profile to refresh the team’s engine room.

What makes this potential move even more appealing is the financial reality currently facing manager Arne Slott.

Slott openly admitted that the club was in a period of transition and needed to “recover and respend” to fund necessary structural changes across the squad.

With Mac Allister available, Hoose’s market value remains soaring and he could be the ultimate necessary evil to fund the next era at Anfield.

Securing a high transfer fee would give the club huge amounts of money to inject new talent.
Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton and Real Madrid’s Eduardo Camavinga have been linked with moves to Anfield in recent weeks.

The Reds want to refresh their midfield this summer

If the Reds are looking to sign a new midfielder, they will likely need to raise funds through player sales.

Selling a player of Mac Allister’s undeniable quality is always a big gamble. He played a key role in Slott’s team that won the title last season.

But if the Merseyside club wants to rebuild their squad, they may have to make some difficult decisions.

With Real Madrid on the move and needing funds to revamp their squad in the summer, the prospect of the Argentine swapping Merseyside for the Spanish capital is suddenly looking like a very real outcome.
