Tottenham Hotspur enter the final game of this unfamiliar relegation battle with a two-point lead over 18th-placed West Ham United.

Had the Lilywhites decided to stay with Igor Tudor until the end of the season, it is unlikely that they would have been unable to enjoy the rapid turnaround in form that has taken place under Roberto de Zerbi in recent weeks.

Long gone are the days when the likes of Harry Kane, Heung-min Son and Dele Alli were challenging for Champions League titles and winning praise for their superb football at the top end of the Premier League.

Tottenham need a new talisman and Luka Vuskovic could be the perfect man for the role, although he is yet to kick a ball for the club in a competitive match.

Vuskovic is the Spurs’ future superstar.

Vuskovic is only 19 years old, but he has already established himself as one of the most talented defenders in the world. He is a Tottenham player but is currently on loan at Hamburg. He will be a central part of this team’s plans next year.

He is one of the most exciting centre-backs in the world and has the potential to rival the best in the business in the future. Tottenham cannot afford to fall into the Championship.

Aside from the obvious and widespread reasons, Vusković is unlikely to be precluded from a role in a second division team after a few seasons of development in Belgium and Germany.

Vuskowicz, described by talent scout Jacek Kulig as a “growing monster”, is a high-flying fighter who makes numerous clearances every game, but he also has the rare ability to score goals. He has played in five of the 26 Bundesliga games this season and is the top scorer among centre-backs in each of Europe’s top five leagues.

He’s the real deal, but Vuskovic isn’t the only up-and-coming superstar who could make a big difference in next year’s N17, with new signing Kane also set to return from a loan spell.

Spurs need to unleash new Harry Kane soon

Forwards of Kane’s caliber only come out of the blue once, but in the case of Mikey Moore, Tottenham may actually record a new version of the club’s legend.

Moore, 18, is currently on loan at Rangers in the Scottish Premiership and has gone from strength to strength throughout the season.

Rangers have had their ups and downs, and while the first few months were tough for the young talent, he is now progressing well and has been a regular in the starting XI since the turn of the year, scoring six goals.

A few days ago he was named the PFA Scotland Men’s Young Player of the Year, but as he prepares to return to north London, Moore could be looking to emulate Kane on his doorstep, with the Three Lions captain completing a series of loan moves before becoming a global superstar at the forefront of Mauricio Pochettino’s regime.

The prolific young player, who was likened by James Maddison to being “like Neymar on the left,” is steadily making his way to the top. Last season, he flourished under Ange, scoring in the Europa League and winning a winner’s medal. He now benefits greatly from a more prominent role in Scotland.

The signs are there. In addition to his direct performance as a player, Moore has started just 22 games in the league this season, creating seven big chances, winning 3.2 duels and making 1.5 tackles per game.

Vuskovic’s name has received more hype, but former Spurs star Gary Mabbutt says his teenage pal still has the potential to develop into a “future superstar”.

Can he emulate Kane in developing into a star member of De Zerbi’s Spurs side? Probably so. The fact that talented players like Vusković and Moore are waiting behind the scenes emphasizes that the future is bright for N17.

Tottenham Hotspur are unlikely to look back on this eventful signing with too much fondness.
