  • Nottingham Forest transfer updates: Elliott Anderson, Morgan Gibbs-White
        • Vitor Pereira personally wants to sign ‘exciting’ Nottingham Forest and Wolves star

Nottingham Forest are set to hold formal negotiations with head coach Vitor Pereira regarding a new contract.

The Portuguese has done a fantastic job at the City Ground since taking over in February, taking the club to safety in the Premier League and to the semi-finals of the Europa League.

His current contract runs until the summer of 2027, but informal negotiations are underway with a view to extending the contract.

Pereira has impressed the City Ground hierarchy since arriving as Sean Dyche’s replacement and they want him to lead Forest into the 2026/27 season.

Reports have linked Forrest to a summer move for Fulham manager Marco Silva, but there is no desire within the club to have a fifth manager within a year.

Pereira, who is keen on a long-term stay at Nottingham, has steered Forest safely through a relegation battle.

Manager Dyche was fired on February 12th, and it was doubtful that the team would return to the championship, but thanks to an eight-game unbeaten record since March, it was confirmed that they would remain in the Premier League.

Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Newcastle leaves them seven points clear of the drop zone with two games remaining.

They travel to Manchester United on Sunday with a top-half finish still in the cards.

Nottingham Forest transfer updates: Elliott Anderson, Morgan Gibbs-White

Forest’s next challenge is to secure key players this summer, with some of their top stars attracting interest from the Premier League’s biggest clubs.

In fact, Elliott Anderson is wanted by Manchester City, and a new report from teamTALK reveals that the Reds have an “internal understanding” that a huge offer from City would be difficult to resist.

However, the same cannot be said for captain Morgan Gibbs-White, with the club expected to reject offers from Manchester United and Tottenham, with the 26-year-old himself hoping to stay.

Forest put a £100m price tag on their captain’s neck last summer, but this time they are desperate to build around him rather than cashing in on the sum.

Indeed, the paper claims Gibbs-White has no intention of forcing a move away after signing a new contract, believing “regular football and continued responsibility at Forest” is more important to his chances in England than a move to a traditional “big six” club.

Gibbs-White, who has already won six caps, has scored 13 goals and provided four assists in 35 top-flight appearances this season, strengthening his case to start ahead of the likes of Jude Bellingham and Morgan Rodgers.
