  • Manchester United hope for success in summer 2025 transfer window
  • Manchester United plan to raid Chelsea to sign ‘unbelievable’ player

Manchester United are currently eyeing the signing of an “incredible” player who has informed Chelsea of his intention to leave the club this summer.

Manchester United hope for success in summer 2025 transfer window

Man United got off to a tough start last season under manager Ruben Amorim, but thanks to Michael Carrick’s performance they performed well in the second half, finishing third in the Premier League and securing a return to the Champions League.

As such, the Red Devils’ summer 2025 transfer window must be considered a success, with CEO Omar Berada outlining plans to adopt the same strategy this time around.

Mr Berrada said: “The template of what we did last summer will be repeated. We don’t know how things will come out of the window. We have to really prepare, we have to have a clear plan, we have to know which positions we want to strengthen and we have to prepare for all eventualities.

“There can be unexpected sending offs or opportunities that weren’t there at the beginning of the frame. We have to be nimble and flexible. We have a clear plan and (director of football) Jason Wilcox and his team are ready to execute that plan.”

The Red Devils have moved quickly to sign Ederson, with the Atalanta midfielder expected to make a permanent move to Old Trafford, but remain keen to strengthen their defense.

Manchester United plan to raid Chelsea to sign ‘unbelievable’ player

According to a report from Mundo Deportivo (via Sport Witness), Man United are in the race to sign Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella, with the Blues set to make around €40m to €50m (approximately £35m to £43m) this summer.

Cucurella has informed his current employer of his intention to leave after the team missed out on European qualification last season and is keen to secure a move to FC Barcelona.

Manchester City, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid are also in the race for the full-back, who was hailed as an “incredible player” by journalist Will Lyner.

Despite appearing primarily as a left-back throughout the 2025-26 season, the 27-year-old has one goal and four assists in 34 Premier League games, creating 39 chances, more than the majority of United’s squad.

Former coach Enzo Maresca also praised the Spaniard’s defensive ability, saying: “He’s doing a great job.” “He scores goals, but not just goals. He helps the team play the way we want to play. He’s very aggressive off the ball when we need to defend.”

Manager Gary Neville has urged Manchester United to sign a left-back this summer in a bid to return to the Champions League, and Cucurella could be a great signing.
