Liverpool are not expected to stop Victor Muñoz from leaving, with the club planning to add another quick attacker to their squad this summer.

According to Ben Jacobs, Liverpool are still looking for an additional winger or forward despite Muñoz’s arrival.

A key requirement is pace, which tells us a lot about the direction of the club’s rebuild under manager Andoni Iraola.

Liverpool are looking for an attacker who can stretch their defense, press aggressively and pose more of a threat in transition.

The Guardian reports that Liverpool beat Newcastle to sign Munoz from Osasuna in a deal worth around £34.5m.

But the deal appears to be just one part of a broader plan of attack.

Key targets face competition

Yann Diomande remains a player Liverpool are optimistic about, but the situation is complicated. PSG are also interested, but RB Leipzig’s asking price is very high.

ESPN reports that Leipzig are asking for around 130 million euros, making a deal difficult even for an ambitious club like Liverpool.

This explains why the Reds are keeping alternatives open. Cologne’s Said El Mara, Brighton’s Yankuba Minte and Lille’s Matias Fernandes-Pardo are all expected to be on the list if Diomande does not arrive.

Fernandes-Pardo is another exciting name, with FootballTransfers reporting that Lille value him at around €70 million.

Bradley Barcola is another player Liverpool are keeping an eye on this summer.

Liverpool’s strategy is clear. They’re not just buying a name, they’re building an offense based on pace, versatility, and future resale value. Liverpool already have several routes open if Diomand’s signing proves too expensive.
