  • Goalkeeper shuffle expected, with Guglielmo Vicario expected to leave the club

Burnley goalkeeper Martin Dubravka is the frontrunner for Spurs’ new back-up goalkeeper position.

Tottenham are prioritizing the addition of an experienced shot-stopper to stabilize their options behind the scenes as the club moves into a key rebuilding phase after a difficult domestic season.

Burnley keeper Martin Dubravka emerges at the top of Tottenham’s list

According to highly regarded Tottenham insider Paul O’Keeffe, the north London side have drawn up a specific list of targets for the secondary role in goal.

O’Keefe revealed that 37-year-old Slovakia international Martin Dubravka has emerged at the top of that list.

The veteran keeper, currently at Burnley, boasts a wealth of Premier League experience and is seen by the club hierarchy as an ideal and reliable option to provide immediate impact.

However, Dubravka is not the only name being considered. O’Keeffe pointed out that Tottenham had prepared a refined shortlist of three to four goalkeepers to keep their options open.

Other big names the club are actively eyeing include Brighton & Hove Albion’s Jason Steele and Leeds United’s Karl Darlow.

Goalkeeper shuffle expected, with Guglielmo Vicario expected to leave the club

A sudden spike in recruitment activity signals a major summer upheaval among players at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

A complete change of goalkeepers is widely expected at North London, with current first-choice keeper Guglielmo Vicario expected to leave the club during the transfer window.

Vicario has attracted significant interest from several top clubs, including Inter Milan, and his potential departure means Tottenham are looking for his replacement.

Antonin Kinski, who replaced Vicario in the second half of the season, finished the season on a high note, putting in some great performances and helping Spurs survive a slide in the table.

However, it remains to be seen whether that was enough to earn him a start under Roberto de Zerbi.

James Trafford is another goalkeeper who has been strongly linked with a move to Spurs.

That said, bringing in a proven Premier League veteran like Dubravka ticks all the right boxes for manager Roberto De Zerbi and ensures the team remains well-stocked with reliable talent, regardless of how the starting keeper situation resolves.
