CROMWELL, Conn. — One year after being officially announced as PGA Tour CEO, Brian Rolup is adding another impressive title to his resume..

“Everyone goes through transitions in life, but this transition from Jay to Brian was a textbook transition,” said Joe Gorder, chairman of PGA Tour Enterprises. “Jay has done a great job supporting Brian, offering wisdom and advice to Brian, and being there every step of the way. He’s been sprinting this far and I’m confident he’ll be sprinting off the tape at the end of the year.”

It was during last year’s Travelers Championship that Lollup was named PGA Tour CEO and Monaghan announced his plans to step down as commissioner at the end of 2026.

“I’m incredibly impressed by many things about Brian, but most notably his judgment, leadership and humility,” Monaghan said Tuesday. “We look forward to supporting him through this transition period over the next six months.”

Monaghan was appointed PGA Tour commissioner in 2017, replacing Tim Finchem.

Rolup, the former NFL chief media and business officer, will officially begin performing both duties on January 1st. He becomes the fifth commissioner in PGA Tour history.

“The PGA Tour has never been in a better position for the future,” Monaghan added. “With Brian at the helm, I am more confident than ever that our best days are just around the corner.”
