*Of course, Anderson’s transfer has not been finalized yet. There’s always the possibility of a last-minute change of heart or failing a medical exam.

It shows City’s big ambitions after a difficult two seasons in which they missed out on Liverpool and Arsenal in the last two Premier League title races.

In January, they also spent big on the signings of Antoine Semenyo and Marc Guehi, who proved to be excellent additions to the squad.

In signing Anderson, they are once again spending big on a proven Premier League player with world-class potential.
