Fabrizio Romano confirms Arsenal investigation into Alex Scott

Romano revealed on YouTube that Arsenal have begun talks with Bournemouth to explore contract terms for the 22-year-old English midfielder.

The investigation comes shortly after the north London club lost out in its pursuit of Newcastle United’s Bruno Guimarães, forcing Mikel Arteta and his Arsenal reinforcements to pivot to other targets.

Romano stressed that Scott’s profile is very attractive to elite teams, not least because his homegrown status carries a huge premium value to England’s top clubs.

Staying a midfielder — I wanted to mention Bournemouth’s Alex Scott, who is one of the most interesting midfielders in the Premier League, and his English ability is a plus, especially for a top English club.

This is why Arsenal called up Alex Scott recently, even though he had already been knocked back by Bruno Guimarães. A meeting was held with Bournemouth.

Bournemouth’s message: “We don’t need money. We’ve already sold a lot of players in the last 12 months. We want to keep Alex Scott.”

They are offering him a new contract that could include a release clause for his future departure. So it’s difficult to get Alex Scott at this point. There are still two months left and we need to see if Arsenal or another team will try again.

But for now, Bournemouth’s position is to keep him. I have been contacted by Arsenal, but the conversation has not progressed at this time.

Why Arsenal are interested in Alex Scott

Scott has developed into one of the Premier League’s most highly regarded young midfielders, thanks to his technical quality, composure under pressure and versatility.

His matchmaking status also makes him a particularly attractive option for Arsenal as clubs continue to balance Premier League and UEFA squad registration rules.

Arsenal are evaluating several midfield targets following the absence of Bruno Guimarães, and the Scot fits the profile of a player who can not only contribute immediately but also has great long-term potential.

They face competition from other Premier League clubs, including Manchester United.

Stan Collymore gives advice to Alex Scott on how to make it at a top club

Former Liverpool star Stan Collymore has hinted that Alex Scott could play at a top club, praising his outstanding skills in the middle of the pitch.

he said:

“If I were one of the top six or seven teams, I would want to have him in the team.

“There are very few players who can do what he does, especially those who can get out of tight spaces. There is no doubt about his ability, which was evident from his interaction with England during the friendly.”

Bournemouth are determined to keep the Scot, but Arsenal’s interest shows how highly valued the midfielder is and he could remain a player to keep an eye on throughout the rest of the transfer window.
