Atletico Madrid are interested in signing Manchester United’s Lisandro Martinez.
According to reports in Spain, the Argentine defender has performed very well since joining the Premier League club and the La Liga club are aiming to finalize a deal worth 40 million euros. It will be interesting to see whether Manchester United intend to allow him to leave.
The Premier League side have already identified potential replacements for the South American defender.
Tottenham’s Micky van de Ven is their target, but the north London club are unlikely to let him leave easily. He is an important player for them and they are likely to demand a high price. It will be interesting to see whether Manchester United make a formal offer to sign the Dutch international.
There is no doubt that Van de Ven is one of the best central defenders in the country at the moment. The opportunity to play for Manchester United could be interesting for him. They could offer him Champions League football and are certainly in a better position to compete for trophies compared to Tottenham.
Cristian Romero has been linked with a move from the London club, and there is no way Spurs would allow their two best defenders to leave at once.
