Fabrizio Romano has shared an important update on Tottenham Hotspur’s acquisition of Manchester City winger Savinho.

Tottenham, who created a buzz in the transfer market by signing Sandro Tonali and Matheus Fernandes, have set their sights on another Premier League star, with Sabinho currently in the frame for a move to north London.

The Brazilian, who can play on either flank, joined Man City ahead of the 2024-25 season and has since scored seven goals and provided 16 assists in 84 games in all competitions.

In fact, the 22-year-old provided 10 assists in his debut season in the Premier League alone and averaged 1.9 successful dribbles per 90 attempts in the top flight in 2025/26, the third highest rate for City.

Journalist Vayom Rahota is particularly confident that the City forward has everything it takes to become one of the best wingers in the world, saying: “Sabiño is a really great player to watch. He’s a sensational winger that City have acquired. He’s going to be a superstar in the next few years. He needs better judgment, but he’ll get there. He’s got all the right ingredients at his disposal.”

Spurs appear to be in a strong position to secure a deal for the Man City star, given that he has already agreed personal terms.

But it’s not just the Brazilian international that Roberto De Zerbi’s side are targeting, as they have also begun contract negotiations with Benfica star Andreas Schjelderup.

The Norwegian winger has yet to agree a contract extension with Benfica, meaning he could leave this summer after his impressive performance at the World Cup.

Norway defied expectations and advanced to the quarterfinals, but were eliminated by England. Schelderup was one of the key players, scoring one goal and providing three assists in six games.
