  • Diomande representative demands clarity from PSG regarding transfer
  • Why Liverpool can believe the doors are open again

Liverpool’s bid to sign a highly-rated winger from RB Leipzig may have been given an unexpected lifeline after fresh uncertainty surrounding the completion of Paris Saint-Germain’s transfer.

PSG looked firmly in control after the player was reported to have chosen the French champions over a move to Anfield, but Liverpool have been forced to consider other attacking targets.

However, the player’s camp is reportedly unhappy as there was no formal bid.

Leipzig remain in a strong negotiating position due to his long-term contract and high valuation, while Liverpool have already shown a willingness to make a significant investment.

The deal no longer appears to be as simple as it was a few weeks ago.

Diomande representative demands clarity from PSG regarding transfer

According to sources close to X, Diomande’s representatives held an emergency meeting with PSG officials to seek answers regarding the delay in submitting a formal offer.

The camp reportedly wants to know whether PSG remain committed or whether they should consider alternatives.

This is important because agreeing to personal terms does not complete the transfer. PSG still have to satisfy Leipzig, but there is little reason to rush as the winger has a long-term contract remaining.

The reported complaints also suggest that his preference for Paris may not be unconditional.

If PSG continue to hesitate, Diomande’s representatives could restart talks with clubs that have so far been sidelined, and Liverpool would have every reason to take up the call.

Why Liverpool can believe the doors are open again

This Is Anfield previously reported that Liverpool had made Diomande their top target and that he had chosen PSG despite making an offer of €100m, which Leipzig rejected.

This was a painful setback, as Liverpool had made strong personal offers and appeared ready to return with an improved offer.

The latest developments give the Reds real hope, but they are no longer favorites for the title.

Liverpool could offer him a key attacking role following Mohamed Salah’s departure, and he has already indicated to Leipzig that he is a serious buyer.

Liverpool should contact the player’s agent again instead of letting the situation become a reckless auction. PSG remain at the top of the table, but could quickly lose momentum if the deal is delayed.

If the French champions are unable to translate their interest into a concrete signing, Liverpool may get an unexpected second chance and must be ready to make a decisive move this time.
