  • West Ham and Hull keen to sign Amario Cosier-Duberry
        • West Ham offer World Cup striker a chance to sign after rejecting Bournemouth

West Ham United and Hull City have joined the race to sign Brighton & Hove Albion forward Amario Cosier-Duberry.

At this stage, a move to Hull could be more attractive given the Premier League football on offer, but following the winger’s stellar performances in League One last season, signing for West Ham in the Championship could be the next logical step.

Cosier-Duberry played a key role in Bolton Wanderers’ return to the second division, scoring 23 goals in 41 appearances in all competitions, two of which came in the play-offs.

Former Arsenal Under-18s head coach Jack Wilshere said the 21-year-old also caught the eye of Mikel Arteta at the Emirates Stadium. “Amario is very exciting and Mikel (Arteta) likes him too. He reminds me of Bukayo Saka, plays in the same position as him and needs to improve his decision-making like Bukayo, but he is definitely exciting.”

“Some moments he’s unplayable. You give him the ball and he can make things happen. He can set up a team and come up with a game plan, but when you have an individual like that, you have a chance.”

The right-winger underperformed for Arsenal and was sold to Brighton before being loaned to Blackburn Rovers for the 2024-25 season, where he only played 713 minutes in the Championship.

However, the youngster’s performances at Bolton suggest he is ready for another chance in the second division.

West Ham and Hull keen to sign Amario Cosier-Duberry

West Ham and Hull are currently interested in signing Cosier Duberry, while Brighton are keen to sign him, according to journalist Simon Collings.

The Premier League side have already rejected a £5m bid from Anderlecht, but interest has now increased, with Paris FC and Red Bull Salzburg also interested.

Should West Ham and Hull sign Amario Cosier-Duberry?

West Ham are aiming for an immediate return after being relegated from the Premier League last season. So signing the Brighton starlet could be a gamble, considering he scored just one goal in 22 games for Blackburn during his last stint in the second division. Furthermore, the starlet is primarily a right-winger, played by Jarrod Bowen, with the 29-year-old now set to stay.

Hull City

Signing Cosier Duberry could be an even bigger gamble for Hull ahead of their Premier League campaign, as the former Arsenal man is yet to make an appearance in the top tier. A move to the London Stadium may make more sense, as manager Sergei Jakirovic could bring in players with proven Premier League experience, and Nuno, who sold Matheus Fernandes for a huge fee, should still be able to build a team that can win promotion.

Fernandes joins Tottenham Hotspur for £80m, with Crisencio Somerville likely to follow him out.

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Al Hilal have given the green light to sign the Dutchman.
