Bryson DeChambeau and Ian Poulter got into an altercation on the golf course during the first round of LIV UK.
Poulter was standing on the tee box preparing to play when DeChambeau’s tee shot from another hole nearly hit him. The ball landed at his feet, and Poulter jumped out and yelled at DeChambeau.

After the round, Poulter said it wasn’t DeChambeau’s fault. The British player said that because of the layout of the golf course, he could not see the tee box from where DeChambeau hit his shot.
Combined with how long it took Poulter’s group to play that hole, it was just bad luck.
But DeChambeau’s old comment about why he doesn’t scream in the foreground might change Poulter’s mind on that.

Bryson DeChambeau once said about never shouting in front of people.
DeChambeau has a track record of this kind of behavior. He has been known to fail to warn spectators of incoming missiles, to not shout loudly in front of him, and to fire errant shots into the crowd.

Speaking on the Rick Shields Golf Show in 2022, DeChambeau was asked to explain his past of not screaming on the foreground, but his response didn’t satisfy critics.
He said, “Most of the time when you take a shot, if you don’t think it’s going to get there, there’s no reason to say anything and most players don’t go on tour. Because of my distance, every shot would be a ‘fore’.”
“People think I don’t have respect, I don’t care about my patrons, I don’t care about people. That’s the furthest thing from this case. I’ve hit people before and it was the worst feeling in the world. So don’t ever think I don’t care about my fans.”
“Those things happen. It’s part of the sport, so don’t think for a second that we don’t feel terrible about it. I hit someone in Louisiana in 2017. Sometimes there’s nothing you can do.”

If Poulter went back and heard this clip, he would be furious. When you hit a golf ball, it is your responsibility to make sure those around you are safe from your shot.
Refusing to shout fore when you don’t know where the ball is going is totally irresponsible and Poulter saw that firsthand at LIV UK.
