  • Florian Plettenberg: Negotiations between Liverpool and Barcola are scheduled for Monday
  • Why Barcola is the ideal player for Liverpool

Liverpool will do everything in their power to sign PSG star Bradley Barcola before the end of the summer transfer window, according to Sky Sports Germany’s eminent journalist Florian Plettenberg.

The Reds have named the 23-year-old France international winger as their top priority to reinvigorate their front line ahead of the upcoming Premier League campaign.

Florian Plettenberg: Negotiations between Liverpool and Barcola are scheduled for Monday

Plettenberg gave a late night transfer update on X, revealing that the Reds’ top brass are preparing to make a decisive push to sign the attacker.

The news suggests that Liverpool will need to reach a formal agreement over a transfer fee with PSG, who value the player at more than €100m, although personal terms are not an obstacle.

“Liverpool are now fully committed to signing Bradley Barcora before Deadline Day. Liverpool are aware of the player’s personal terms and do not expect any problems to arise on that front if a transfer agreement can be reached with PSG. Further negotiations are scheduled for Monday. Liverpool are considering submitting an initial bid immediately. Barcora is open to leaving PSG this summer.”

Why Barcola is the ideal player for Liverpool

Barcola has developed into one of Europe’s most exciting young wide forwards thanks to his speed, direct dribbling and ability to beat defenders in one-on-one situations.

His versatility allows him to play on either wing, making him an attractive option for Iraola as Liverpool adjust to life post-Mohamed Salah.

The France international is also a perfect fit for the energetic, forward-footed style often seen in Iraola’s teams.

His willingness to press aggressively, win the ball back high up the pitch and push forward in transition makes him a great fit for Liverpool’s tactical approach.

Barcola is only 23 years old and already has valuable Champions League and international experience, as well as huge potential for long-term development.

If Liverpool can reach an agreement with PSG, they would sign one of the most coveted young attackers in European football and make a big statement ahead of the new season.
