LONDON — The All England Club announced on Tuesday that attendance for Wimbledon’s two-week Grand Slam tournament was a record high of 550,151, slightly more than last year.
Attendance at the 139th Grass Court Tennis Major was boosted by the championship being held without rain for the first time since 2019. Total attendance increased by 1,381 people from 2025.
Wimbledon still lags behind the other three Grand Slam tournaments in terms of total attendance.
More than 1.1 million fans turned out for the main draw of this year’s Australian Open. More than 900,000 people attended last year’s US Open, and 589,500 people attended the 2026 French Open.
The other three feature main draw competition over 15 days. There are 14 days left in Wimbledon. Rival tournaments also hold qualifying events locally the week before, allowing them to accommodate more fans and increase revenue. Wimbledon qualifying events are held outside the venue.
The All England Club announced that this year’s single-day attendance records were set on the seventh and 12th day, and also on the 14th day when Jannik Sinner defeated Alexander Zverev in the men’s final. The day before, Linda Noskova defeated Karolina Muchova in the all-Czech women’s final.
