The information obtained could lead UEFA to pursue criminal charges against Infantino and other FIFA officials in Switzerland, where FIFA is based. UEFA has accused Infantino of improperly proposing a stake in the FFE without adhering to FIFA’s official procedures and of undervaluing those stakes.
Interestingly, UEFA’s legal action is aimed specifically at Infantino rather than FIFA itself. However, FIFA is willing to bear his legal costs because Infantino was acting in his capacity as president while attempting to sell World Cup stakes.
