Valentina Shevchenko recently relinquished the title due to injury, leading to a matchup between Natalia Silva and Wong Cong for the vacant belt as the main event at UFC 332 next month. “I’ll be watching, of course,” Grasso shared with reporters after the fight (via Cageside Press). “It’s a crucial fight in my division, but I stay committed to my training. I trust my preparation, and when the moment arrives, I’ll be ready.”
Grasso has experienced a resurgence in her career. After losing her title to Shevchenko and suffering a one-sided loss to Silva, many doubted her chances of reclaiming title contention. However, a stunning knockout over Maycee Barber followed by the recent win over Fiorot has restored her status as a serious contender.
“I prepared very well,” she said. “I relied on my team’s strategy, and it all came together. When the plan is perfect, confidence follows inside the cage.”
This marked Grasso’s third appearance at Noche UFC, an annual event celebrating Mexican Independence Day. She holds the distinction of being the only Mexico-born fighter to headline the event, which holds personal significance for her.
