Forever Young, the reigning champion of both the Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) and the Jockey Club Gold Cup Stakes (G1), has been named the 5-2 favorite in the second of two future betting pools for this year’s $7 million Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1). This second betting pool will open on Friday, September 25 at noon ET and close on Sunday, September 27 at 6 p.m. ET. The wager requires a $2 minimum bet and is a straight win bet.
The Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic Future Wager Pool #2 allows fans to place bets on 18 different entries well ahead of the race scheduled for October 31 at Keeneland Race Course in Lexington, Kentucky, as part of the 43rd Breeders’ Cup World Championships. Future wager odds generally offer better value than wagering on race day. The pool includes 17 individual horses plus one “All Others” option that covers every other contender not listed by name.
Bets on all Breeders’ Cup Future Wagers can be made through FanDuel, which partners with Breeders’ Cup, as well as other advance-deposit wagering (ADW) platforms, racetracks, casinos, simulcast centers, and off-track betting locations.
Forever Young, who returned to racing on the opening day at Belmont Park after nearly six months off, dominated the Jockey Club Gold Cup with a 3 ¼ length victory. He is followed by second favorite Sovereignty at 3-1, last year’s Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes winner who also took the Whitney Stakes this year. Other leading contenders include Knightsbridge (6-1), winner of the Pacific Classic Stakes; Golden Tempo (8-1), winner of this year’s Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes; Magnitude (10-1), winner of the Dubai World Cup and Stephen Foster Stakes; Further Ado (12-1), who won the Blue Grass Stakes and was runner-up in the Pennsylvania Derby; and Preakness winner Napoleon Solo at 15-1.
In the first pool, closing August 30, Sovereignty was the 3-1 favorite with a payout of $8.04 on a $2 wager, while Forever Young ended as the 9-2 second choice, paying $11.04.
