The 2026 Minnesota Thoroughbred Sale saw impressive increases in both total sales and average price on September 6 at Canterbury Park, highlighted by a $91,000 filly sired by Global Campaign. Eighteen Minnesota-bred yearlings were sold, generating $498,500 in revenue—a 106% rise from 2025, when 21 horses brought in $241,750. The average price surged 140% from $11,512 to $27,694.
The top bid came from Carin Offerman, who paid $91,000 for Hip 7, a bay filly by Global Campaign. This filly is the second offspring of Miss Ring, an unraced mare by Dialed In. Miss Ring’s first foal, Rhyme Away, previously captured the Northern Lights Debutante Stakes at Canterbury Park and placed second in the Iowa Stallion Futurity at Prairie Meadows earlier this year.
Consigned by Richard Bremer and Cheryl Sprick, the filly descends from the lineage of Governor George, a British Group 3-placed runner. Miss Ring herself is a half-sister to Minnesota stakes winners Bet Your Boots, Shipmate, and Bet Your Life, as well as multiple state-bred stakes performers including Sun Country and Bet Your Socks.
Offerman was the top buyer of the auction, acquiring two horses for a total of $160,000, including a $69,000 Mitole filly—the second highest-priced horse of the day. Bremer and Sprick led all consignors with five sales grossing $230,000.
