After a 2-0 victory over Brighton, Alexia Putellas expressed that the London City Lionesses aim to create something remarkable in the Women’s Super League, as they climbed to second place.
Putellas netted her inaugural league goal since joining the team, contributing to their win that brought them within three points of Manchester City at the top of the table.

While London City had a narrow edge in shots (11 to 10), they managed three shots on target compared to Brighton’s one.
Despite Brighton accumulating a higher expected goals total of 1.6 xG compared to the Lionesses’ 1.3, London City maintained their winning position.
With five WSL matches set for Sunday, London City could potentially drop down the standings, but head coach Eder Maestre remains optimistic about their ability to challenge the top teams.
