George, who played four games last season and 33 in 2024-25, was seen as a hopeful contender for a full roster spot at just 22 years old.
Last season, Stanley appeared in 76 regular-season games split between Winnipeg and Buffalo, and he also played eight playoff games with the Sabres. Since breaking into the NHL with Winnipeg in 2021, he has participated in over 300 games.
