Henry Cejudo is eager to reschedule his fight with Nurideen Shabazz, also known as “Deen The Great.” After winning his professional boxing debut by split decision over “Euphoria” actor Javon Walton at Misfits Boxing 11 in Miami, Cejudo wants a rematch with Deen, who had originally been his opponent but withdrew due to an injury.
Cejudo insists that a fight against Deen is the next logical step. Speaking to Fred Talks Fighting, he expressed frustration with Deen, saying, “Deen ‘The Duck’ owes me a fight. You need to show up so we can settle this like planned. Stop calling him ‘Deen The Great’—he’s more like ‘Deen The B*tch.’ If he’s not willing to fight, then just stream and quit pretending to be a boxer.”
Having retired from MMA in December 2025, Cejudo believes Deen faked his injury to avoid facing him, and he dismisses Deen’s boxing claims, viewing him as more of an internet personality than a true competitor. “Deen, just step up,” Cejudo challenged. “Everyone doubts your injury, including me and those at Misfits. If you’re serious about this, then let’s do it. If not, just stay quiet.”
Fan Take: This rivalry captures the growing crossover between combat sports and entertainment, spotlighting how personalities like Deen and veterans like Cejudo are reshaping what it means to be a fighter today. A showdown between the two could ignite major interest and potentially elevate boxing’s appeal to a broader, younger audience, blending athleticism with showmanship.
