Victor Munoz, the winger from Spain, described learning from Lamine Yamal as “a privilege” as they both compete for the same spot in Luis De la Fuente’s team.
Though both were part of Spain’s World Cup-winning squad this summer, Munoz didn’t play due to an injury while La Roja secured their second title.
Yamal may not have performed as well as he hoped at the tournament, but he has been instrumental in Spain’s strong start to the Nations League during this international break.
He has netted three goals and contributed one assist in victories against England and Croatia, with Munoz also participating in the latter match.
Currently, Yamal is among the top contenders for the Ballon d’Or this month, and Munoz is taking full advantage of training alongside the Barcelona star.
“I try to learn a lot from him; he’s a really good friend and we spend a lot of time together,” Munoz remarked.
“It’s a privilege for me and he supports me in my daily life.”
“[De la Fuente advises me to] just be myself. Help the team both in attack and defense, be direct, and go for one-on-one situations. Those are my strengths.”

Munoz made a reported £35m (€40m) transfer to Liverpool over the summer and has scored once in six appearances so far, with three being starts.
His only goal came as an equalizer against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League, and Andoni Iraola’s team remains unbeaten in all competitions for the 2026-27 season (W4 D3).
“I do notice a difference between LaLiga and the Premier League,” the 23-year-old mentioned.
“LaLiga is more tactical, while the Premier League is more physical. The intensity of the training sessions there is extremely high, and it’s helping me improve.”
Fan Take: This news is significant for soccer fans as it highlights the promising development of young talents like Yamal and Munoz, who could shape the future of Spanish and European football. Their success not only adds excitement to international competitions but also raises the standard in club-level play, particularly for Liverpool as they maintain their unbeaten streak.
