Dana White recently revealed on Nina Drama’s KICK stream the details of Alex Pereira’s upcoming fight, fulfilling his earlier promise to make the announcement.
During UFC 332, White confirmed that Pereira will face Sergei Pavlovich in the co-main event at UFC 335. This event is scheduled for December 12 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The UFC President also disclosed that the heavyweight showdown between Pereira and Pavlovich will be a five-round match.
Take a look at the official announcement below:
Earlier this year, Pereira relinquished his light heavyweight title to chase history by aiming for championships in three different weight classes. However, his debut in the heavyweight division at UFC Freedom 250 didn’t go as planned—he was knocked out in the second round by Ciryl Gane.
Now, with his fight against Sergei Pavlovich at UFC 335, Pereira has a chance to get back in the win column, earn his first victory in the heavyweight division, and re-establish himself as a top contender for the title.
Here is the announcement once more:
On the other side, Pavlovich is riding a three-fight winning streak, most recently delivering a swift knockout of Glover Teixeira in just 39 seconds.
Right after Dana White confirmed Pereira’s next opponent, “Poatan” posted a promotional video sending a direct message to Sergei Pavlovich, captioning it:
“I’ll see you soon.” 👀 #UFC335
Watch Alex Pereira’s message below:
Despite many fans and commentators expecting Pereira to drop back down to light heavyweight following his loss at UFC Freedom 250, the Brazilian fighter—who recently signed a new contract—has made it clear he intends to stay in the heavyweight division.
Pereira aims to become the first UFC fighter to earn titles in three divisions, and a win over the 34-year-old Russian Pavlovich at UFC 335 could put him on the path for another heavyweight title shot.
Fan Take: This matchup is pivotal for MMA fans as it marks a defining moment in Pereira’s pursuit of historic three-division dominance. A victory here could shift the heavyweight landscape and inject fresh excitement into the title chase, proving how dynamic and unpredictable the sport continues to be.
