UFC 332 took place this past Saturday, October 3, 2026, at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, resulting in a night filled with numerous knockouts that left many fighters facing tough defeats. Among those who fell short was Wang Cong, who was outmatched by Natalia Silva in the main event, ending her title hopes. King Green also suffered a swift defeat, getting knocked out in the first round by Esteban Ribovics. Similarly, Ateba Gautier was taken out early by Roman Kopylov. But which fighter is feeling the biggest post-fight setback as the days pass?
The answer is Deiveson Figueiredo.
Figueiredo, known as “Daico,” entered his co-main event against rising star Payton Talbott desperate for a win after losing consecutive fights to Umar Nurmagomedov and Song Yadong. With four losses in his last five bouts, he needed a victory to regain confidence.
Unfortunately for Figueiredo, things quickly deteriorated. Talbott used his size and reach advantage to stun the former UFC Flyweight champion early on. Despite a brief recovery, Figueiredo took additional punishment until Talbott forced a stoppage just 130 seconds into the fight.
This loss marks Figueiredo’s third consecutive defeat, placing him in a difficult position late in his career at age 38. While his skills remain formidable, the younger generation of fighters like 28-year-old Talbott is proving faster and stronger. Figueiredo hasn’t ruled out making a tough weight cut back down to Flyweight but recognizes a title shot against current division king Joshua Van is unlikely anytime soon. Should he stay at Bantamweight, a matchup with No. 13 ranked Aiemann Zahabi might be a good next step, considering Zahabi recently suffered a devastating loss to former Bantamweight champ Sean O’Malley that ended his seven-fight win streak.
Both Figueiredo and Zahabi are in desperate need of wins, and neither should expect a top-ranked opponent for their next bouts. The victor would gain vital momentum and confidence, while the loser risks falling further into career uncertainty.
