Rancho San Miguel will host its 2026 Open House & Stallion Show on Saturday, December 5, featuring three of California’s top sires and an on-site sale of racing, breeding, and riding prospects. This free event runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the farm in San Luis Obispo County and welcomes Thoroughbred breeders, owners, trainers, and fans from the region.
Leading the stallion presentation is Collected, the 2017 Grade 1 Pacific Classic Stakes winner who has become a favorite among West Coast breeders since moving from Kentucky to California last year. Now 13 years old and sired by City Zip, Collected tops the state’s sire rankings for 2026 in multiple categories, including graded stakes winners, black-type winners and performers, individual race winners, and total progeny earnings, which have reached $5.3 million. In addition, he covered more mares than any other California stallion this season, breeding 95 mares.
Alongside Collected, the show will feature two other standout stallions from Rancho San Miguel’s barn: Eight Rings, the leading first-crop sire in California for 2026, and Mo Forza, the leading second-crop sire, both of whom are Grade 1 winners.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to see promising young stallions Bolden and Brickyard Ride, along with experienced sires Editorial, Niagara Falls, and Northern Causeway.
The event will also showcase a large selection of farm-owned horses available for purchase, including broodmares, weanlings, yearlings, and prospects for racing or riding.
Guests can enjoy a catered lunch, participate in door prize drawings, and enter a stallion season raffle during the festivities.
“Our annual Open House is one of our most cherished traditions,” said Tom Clark, owner of Rancho San Miguel. “We’re excited to welcome members of the West Coast breeding, racing, and equestrian communities once again, showcase our stallions, offer a wide range of horses for sale, and connect with fellow horsemen.”
