According to PWInsider Elite, there are reports that Enzo Amore may have signed a contract with WWE within the past week, with one insider suggesting he could be headed to the NXT brand. Known as one of the most authentic voices in the locker room, Amore’s potential return to WWE is gaining traction.
In May, Enzo was seen at the WWE Performance Center, as noted by Cory Hays from False Finish. Meanwhile, his former tag team partner Big Cass made a comeback on the August 3 episode of Raw in Des Moines, Iowa—right after SummerSlam—by attacking Je’Von Evans. However, Enzo did not appear alongside Cass during this return. As recently as last week, Fightful Select reported that although Amore has engaged in discussions with WWE this year and expressed interest in a comeback, no official deal had been finalized.
Enzo and Big Cass previously teamed up in both NXT and on WWE’s main roster, where their entrances quickly became fan favorites. Their partnership ended in 2017 when Cass betrayed Amore, after which Amore captured the Cruiserweight Championship. Enzo departed from WWE in January 2018, with Cass following his release in June of that same year. Since his return, Cass has portrayed a villainous character on Raw.
Analysis:
It remains uncertain if WWE plans to reunite Enzo Amore with Big Cass. Since Cass is currently a heel, WWE could flip Cass into a babyface and revive their popular duo, present Enzo as a heel partner alongside Cass, or have Amore pursue a solo career. My personal guess is that Enzo might serve as Cass’s manager—given Enzo’s exceptional mic skills and the fact that the wrestling world benefits from having more charismatic managers.
Fan Take: This potential reunion excites fight fans because Enzo and Cass were known for their electrifying chemistry and dynamic performances. Bringing Enzo back could inject fresh energy into WWE programming while also showcasing the importance of strong character work and promo ability in professional wrestling.
