Leeds United are now planning a January move for a former Premier League star, having endured a tough run of form over the past few weeks.
After making a statement by defeating Newcastle United 4-1 at Elland Road, the Whites have struggled since the middle of September, and they are now on a run of five games without a win in the Premier League.
Perhaps even more concerningly, scoring goals has been a real problem, with Daniel Farke’s side failing to find the net against Crystal Palace and Sunderland, two sides that currently find themselves in the relegation zone.
Most recently, AFC Bournemouth had no trouble keeping a clean sheet, running out 2-0 winners at the Vitality Stadium, although Farke had no issues with his side’s performance, saying: “It’s tough for the boys because performance wise, nothing to moan about. Sometimes you have to accept a loss. The team was a bit more clinical and for that congratulations to Bournemouth.”

Having been embroiled in the relegation battle throughout the 2025-26 campaign, Farke will be looking to avoid a repeat this season, and it is so far so good, with a points tally of 11 placing them four points clear of the bottom three.
However, adding some more attacking firepower to their ranks during the January transfer window may enable the Whites to steer further clear of the relegation zone, and they have now set their sights on a former Fulham player.
Leeds eyeing January move for Harvey Elliott
After an unsuccessful loan spell with Aston Villa last season, Liverpool shipped Harvey Elliott out to Valencia on a temporary basis back in the summer, but the 23-year-old is yet to start a game in La Liga, featuring for 152 minutes across six substitute appearances.
As such, the Spanish side are planning to terminate Elliott’s loan in the January transfer window, according to a report from Football Insider, which states Leeds could launch a move for the Englishman, who doesn’t have a future at Anfield.
At this stage of his career, the attacking midfielder would prefer to sign for a club permanently, and he could be a solid signing for Leeds, having shown flashes of brilliance in the Premier League, picking up five goals and 13 assists in 99 matches in the competition.
Owen Hargreaves has also waxed lyrical about the ex-Fulham midfielder, saying last season: “I think Harvey Elliott can eventually go on to be a player as good as Martin Odegaard. I think technically he’s fantastic, he hasn’t had the opportunities at Liverpool obviously, because they had so many players. But I think centrally, he’s a fabulous player.”
That said, Elliot, who has the same agent as Anton Stach, would not be a sure-fire success at Elland Road, given that his development may have been hampered by his very limited game time over the past two seasons, making just nine appearances for Villa in all competitions last term.
