Week 9’s NFL odds feature a slate heavy with cross-conference showdowns that could double as Super Bowl tune-ups. Matchups of note include the Bills at Vikings (+3), Patriots at Packers (+3) and Broncos at Panthers (+2.5). The Bengals are favored by three in Madrid against the Falcons after Atlanta suffered a 16-0 loss to Tampa Bay, becoming the first team shut out this season. (Also: a Kalshi promo code CBSSPORTS55 offer is mentioned — $55 bonus after $25+ in trades.)
Several contests carry spreads of a touchdown or more, such as Chiefs vs. Jets (+9.5), 49ers vs. Raiders (+9.5) and Seahawks vs. Cardinals (+8.5). The NFC West will feature two new starters under center: Drew Lock steps in for the injured Sam Darnold, and Gardner Minshew will take over after Jacoby Brissett was traded to the Ravens. The updated Week 9 lines are available below, and SportsLine’s computer model has published betting guidance and predictions for every game.
SportsLine’s model runs each game 10,000 times and, according to the site, has netted more than $5,000 for $100 bettors on its top-rated NFL picks since it began. Entering Week 9 of the 2026 season, the model was 60-51 on top-rated picks dating back to 2024. It has now processed the latest Week 9 odds and posted locked-in selections for every matchup.
The model’s top Week 9 recommendations include Washington (+4.5, 48.5) at home against the Rams, projecting the Commanders to cover better than half the time. Washington is 3-1 against the spread in games Jayden Daniels has started and finished, leads the league with a +7 turnover differential, and has averaged more than 140 rushing yards in Daniels’ starts. The Rams were gouged for 234 rushing yards by Josh Allen and the Bills in Week 5, and Los Angeles is just 1-3 ATS in its last four games played in the Eastern Time Zone; the model pegs this matchup as being decided by under a field goal.
Another key pick: the Chiefs (-9.5, 48) to cover against the Jets in the 1 p.m. ET window. Kansas City has covered in both of its games this season as favorites by more than a touchdown and is 4-1 ATS in its last five such spots. The Jets are 2-4 ATS in their last six games as double-digit underdogs. With Kansas City’s No. 5 scoring defense squaring off against New York’s No. 25 scoring offense, the model forecasts the Jets will be limited to about 3.8 yards per carry and Geno Smith won’t reach 200 passing yards. Kansas City is expected to cover in over half of simulations, and the game’s total goes OVER in a majority of those runs.
The model also lays out winners and covers for every other Week 9 contest and has identified four A-rated spread plays that it signals as especially strong. For full game-by-game picks and the model’s top selections, SportsLine is the source cited.
