Thomas Tuchel has excluded Cole Palmer from his latest England lineup, while Jobe Bellingham and Josh King have both earned their first call-ups for the Nations League.
Palmer has had an impressive start to the season with Chelsea, contributing to eight goals across all competitions (five goals, three assists).
Despite this, he has missed previous opportunities, including being left out of the World Cup squad and dropping out before an earlier break this season. Tuchel noted that Palmer has “missed too many chances to represent England,” leading to his omission.
Phil Foden is also among the notable absences, despite showcasing improved form with Manchester City.
In contrast, Tuchel is bringing in fresh talent, like Jobe Bellingham, who joins his brother Jude in the squad after performing well with Borussia Dortmund this season.
Jobe has played in nearly all of Dortmund’s matches and ranks high for tackles won, interceptions, and possession retrieved, just behind Waldemar Anton.
If Jobe makes his debut, the Bellingham brothers will be the fourth pair to represent England in the modern era.
Josh King, who has been performing well with two goals and one assist in the Premier League, is also receiving his first call-up ahead of England’s final Nations League matches against Croatia and Spain.
