Signing a striker will be considered a Liverpool priority this summer.
The Reds have already completed the signatures of Jeremy Fripon, Florian Wiltz and Milos Kerkez, adding depth to their defense and creation department.
Following Darwin Nunes’ disappointing performance that brought him closer to the exit from the club this summer, a new striker has been targeted by Arne Slot and his recruiting team.
Nunes has been linked to the move to Naples this summer, with talks being held between the Premier League and the Serie A champions.
Liverpool has three strikers on the radar this summer
According to Sky Reporter Florian Plettenberg, the Premier League champions have three names for the new striker on the radar: Hugo Ekitike, Alexander Isak and Victor Osimhen.
Liverpool has conducted extensive scouts and background checks on several striker targets ahead of potential summer moves, with Ekitique emerging as one of the main names under consideration by the Anfield hierarchy.
The French striker has been particularly praised for his ability to play on the frontline, offering tactical flexibility in his slot system.
Ekitike is aware of the growing interest from Liverpool this summer. The attacker knows that in order for the Reds to sign him, they will need to offload some of the players first to first balance their finances.
In addition to Ekitike, Isak is part of Liverpool’s contender list, but he may be the most expensive option they have on the radar.
Newcastle United will require a Premier League record transfer fee to force attackers to leave the club. He’s not outside Liverpool’s range yet, but Magpies have no intention of selling him and are tied to a long-term contract at St. James Park.
Victor Osimhen seems like a handy option
The Osimen, which was loaned out at Galatasaree last season, is scheduled to be sold by Napoli this summer. He scored 37 goals in all competitions in the previous term.
The reason he could make his move to Merseyside club easier is because the Italians want to sign Nunes from the Premier League side, allowing both clubs to sign a swap deal.
The new striker is very likely to arrive at Anfield this summer, but it is still unclear who its attacker is.
