Ex-Lebens Kicker Justin Tucker Scores Big with 10-Week NFL Suspension Victory

Former Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker has been suspended for the first 10 weeks of the 2025 NFL regular season after the league acknowledged it breached its personal conduct policy, according to an announcement on Thursday. Tucker, currently a free agent, is allowed to sign with any NFL team and participate in training camp and preseason games before his suspension starts on August 26. He will be eligible to return to play on November 11.

Tucker, 35, faces allegations of sexual misconduct made by 16 massage therapists from eight upscale spas in Baltimore. These claims reportedly occurred between 2012 and 2016, during the early years of Tucker’s NFL career. The Ravens released him on May 5 amid the league’s investigation, ending the tenure of one of their most reliable kickers.

Tucker’s agent, Rob Roche, expressed disappointment in the NFL’s decision, emphasizing Tucker’s commitment to his family and community and his desire to move past this difficult chapter. Tucker has consistently denied the accusations, labeling them as “clearly false” and dismissing the Baltimore Banner’s report as “desperate tabloid feed.”

Victims have expressed mixed feelings—some are glad action was taken, but consider the 10-week suspension minimal given the lifelong impact. Legal representatives of 13 therapists criticized Tucker for not apologizing and instead attacking the credibility of the accusers, calling his denial unnecessary and unacceptable.

The attorneys mentioned they are still contemplating further steps for their clients. They noted Tucker’s decision not to appeal the suspension while continuing to deny the allegations leaves victims feeling unheard.

Tucker had previously signed a four-year, $22 million contract extension with the Ravens, making him the highest-paid kicker at that time. He had been part of the Ravens since their 2012 Super Bowl Championship and was a seven-time Pro Bowler. Last season was his worst in 13 years, missing more kicks and ranking near the bottom for field goal accuracy.

Fan Take: This suspension highlights the NFL’s increasing commitment to addressing off-field conduct, reminding fans that accountability extends beyond the game. For the sport, it underscores the importance of maintaining integrity and player conduct standards to preserve the league’s reputation and trust among its supporters.
