The Panthers Roar Back-to-Back Stanley Cup Champions with a Legendary Celebration at Fort Lauderdale Bar

The Florida Panthers made history on Tuesday night by becoming only the third team in the NHL salary cap era (since 2005-06) to win back-to-back Stanley Cups. They also joined an elite group as the fourth team in NHL history to defeat the same opponent consecutively to claim the championship. To celebrate their second straight Stanley Cup victory, the Panthers gathered at the iconic Elbow Room bar in Fort Lauderdale, bringing the Stanley Cup along for the festivities once again. Panthers Captain Alexander Barkov was spotted proudly holding the trophy in a police vehicle, joking about aiming for a three-peat.

Early Wednesday, players like Matthew Tkachuk, Gustav Forsling, Barkov, and others were seen enjoying the celebration at the popular beach bar, with fans cheering as the team shared drinks poured from the Stanley Cup. Unlike last year, when Tkachuk took the Cup for a swim in the Atlantic Ocean—a stunt now banned by NHL officials to prevent chaos—the trophy stayed dry this time around.

The celebration continued at Elbow Room on Wednesday, but the team’s festivities aren’t over yet. Fort Lauderdale’s Mayor, Dean Trantalis, announced that the Panthers’ Championship Parade will take place on Sunday, likely running along Fort Lauderdale Beach starting at noon. Last year’s parade drew an estimated crowd of over 200,000 fans, highlighting the strong local support for the team.

Additionally, official Florida Panthers Stanley Cup Championship gear is now available for fans to commemorate this incredible back-to-back victory, including hats, t-shirts, and special gift boxes.

Fan Take: This historic achievement not only cements the Panthers’ legacy but also energizes the fan base and the sport of hockey in Florida, a non-traditional hockey market. Their continued success could boost the NHL’s popularity and inspire more youth participation in the sport across the southern U.S. for years to come.
